The money you sent for the shipping fees of your puppy has been received and we have already processed the shipping papers of your puppy .
But before we proceed ,we shall like to inform you that we have just receive confirmation from the control department that your puppy lacked a traveling insurance. We will like you to know that your puppy have not been insured to travel and we will require the insurance of your puppy covered before we can proceed with the shipping of your puppy . Although we take great care in providing the safest, most comfortable animal transport service available, accidents remain a possibility in certain circumstances beyond our control. While all our driver/attendants are both licensed and bonded, the following applies to each individual carrier we transport. This is in accordance with our rules, which states that we can not take the risk to transport life puppy without the international insurance policy covered. Therefore you will have to pay for the insurance charges of your puppy before we can proceed with the shipping of your puppy today. Remember that we shall soon be having the flight of the puppy,so try to be fast about this.

Payment Option

We have two payment options for the international insurance policy, below are the different options which you have to choose to pay for the insurance of your puppy, so is either you pay for;

A) You pay a sum of 500 pounds which is 100% refundable to you in cash at your door steps at the point of delivery of your puppy.Here,the insurance given to you will expires after 3 months

or

B) You pay a sum of 280 pounds which is non-refundable and the insurance will expire after 10 years.

We will want to assure you the safety of your puppy and also that once we ship your puppy to your doorstep, the money you are going to pay for the insurance will be refundable to you upon the pick up of your puppy if you choose to pay for option (A). But if you choose option (B) the money you are going to pay will not be refundable.

NB 1: We will refund your money cash upon the delivery of your puppy to your home address if you choose to pay for option (A). You are recommended to try as much as possible to send the money required for the international insurance policy before we will have to proceed with the shipping of your puppy today .

NB 2: Take note that if you chose option(B),if any thing happens to your puppy within the 10 years period,the insurance company will have to compensate everything expenditure you have put on the puppy.

A telephone begining with 4470 redirects anywhere in the world and is most preferred of scammers.

I put an ad on gumtree and received a reply from someone. I thought I would add this on tis thread as when I googled the email address it didn't come up with anything, so hopefully in the future, if this email address scams others they will find this thread.

My ad was asking for a small or medium dog.

I received this reply..

"Hello , good day I just saw your post an Gumtree.com and will like to inquire if you are still interested ? please mail me back for details and pictures thanks waiting . "

Anyway I replied back, they replied with pictures and then....

"Hi, i see that you are really interested in my puppies . sorry for the delayed response but i can assure you that the puppies could reach you as soon as you will need them today. I am located in Cameroon and I do not need any money from you what I am expecting from you is your love and care which you are going to show this puppies . I shall need to ship them to you but you need to know that you will be paying only for their flight directly to the airport company so that they should deliver the puppies at your home .
It shall be a door step delivery and you will just need to stay at home and be waiting for them . So you just need to mail me now with your address so that I should take them to the airport this morning for shipment. They shall reach you before it is mid day or around mid day . So I shall be waiting on your mail to get what you have to say about it if you are ready fro the shipment then let me know so that I take the puppies to the airport. You will be paying only 250 pounds for the flight of both puppies thanks waiting ."

I would never ever even consider replying or falling for that, but I can see why people do, especially for expensive breeds.

I am in UK and firstly, you can NOT just ship dogs here, there is a strict 6 month quarantine period in this country as we are practically rabies free. Secondly, they always reply in broken English. Thirdly, there is no need to get a dog from abroad (or in a different state) as there are so many dogs in your own state/country. These people will ask for more and more money, playing with your emotions and making you think they are real reasons. They will ask after the flight money, for crate money, immunisation money, even tax money. Do NOT fall for the threats, they cannot sue you, as they know full well, if they went to court they would have to prove that they had puppies in the first place and proof that they bought plane tickets etc. Do not give out personal details or money, until you see a dog in person and take the dog. Do not accept a picture as proof that a person has the dog.

There is no doubt that you have been scammed and that their lawsuit threat is a "real" as the dog that doesn't exist.

I'm afraid that the money you have sent them is lost as you've surely sent this via Western Union or Moneygram. Both are the equivalent of giving a stranger on the street a bag full of money. Once this money is picked up, it cannot be recovered.

The only option you now have is to file a complaint with your local authorities. Also, if you could post all the details of the scam here, it may help others to avoid it. These details include email addresses, website, telephone numbers and the name of the person receiving the money that you sent. :)

I was looking to adopt an English bulldog. In response to some emails I put out, I received few fishy responses that looked like scams. However, this person "Dr. Harry", person sent text messages and photos to a cell phone I provided, and in addition was responding to my emails. Given that in response to my last exchange with him/her, they responded with a "standard form letter" (which was not on-par with concerns I addressed immediately in my email to them), I thought I should check to see if there were any "puppy scammers" around. The concept was sort of sickening to me, but I found this site.

Did anyone else get the whole sob story of, "I just lost my daughter in an accident and now every time I look at the puppy I think of her"? This woman had me and my whole family in tears. We felt obligated to get the puppy. She had told us originally she was located in California. So we agreed that we wanted the teacup yorkie, and she agreed to send it the next morning. I get an email from her telling me it's coming from Cameroon, Africa. Can you say red flag? So did a little research and here I am, puppy-less and disappointed in humanity. Hah. If there's any small sign of a scam, or it just sounds too good to be true, don't fall for it. They don't deserve any amount of money for what they're doing.

I am so tired of sending emails out, asking about a puppy for sale in my area, only to get some poorly written email back telling me I have to pay for $200+ for a puppy that was said to be free. So, instead of just getting angry and never replying back or saying "No thanks.", I have decided to get back at them. Just a few minutes ago, someone replied back to one of my puppy inquiry emails and told me they were in Cameroon. My reply to them was,

"Cameroon? Oh, that's great!! My Mother is working there and will be coming home in a few days. Give me your address and I'll have her pick up the puppy. And it'll be free, correct? Since I won't need to pay for the transportation fee."

I wonder how they'll react after reading that. I am just getting tired of getting these replies. My Shetland sheepdog is getting lonely and less active. I seriously need to find him a puppy full of energy to get him back on the ball again.

Lately I've been emailing this Lady called Melissa Sanchez about adopting her 3 Chuhuahua's, I asked if this was a scam but she hadn't answered my question.

Then she sent me sum pictures of them. And then told me about her not being able to afford to look after them, and then she told me her daughter died and left her to look after the grand daughter.

I just wanted to let you know about my recent experience with puppy scam. I saw an add for 12 week old huskies. The original location of the owner was Illinois bust as it turned out he had relocated to Georgia so he offered to ship the puppy to me. I had no idea how the shipment works but did a bit or research with the Airlines that do offer the services and how much would be the fee. We exchanged a couple of e-mails, Mr Austin Reed seemed very protective of his puppies, even wanted form me to send pictures of the puppy as it was growing up to ensure that he is ok.
He asked me for my name and infromation and told me that he will contact a carrier and the puppy will be at my house within a day.
I found it very strange that he replayed only once a day to my e-mails, usually when people want to sell their pets or whatever it be check there e-mail constantly for any new information.

Today I received the following information from a carrier whose website is http://standarddeliveryexpress.yolasite.com/ I checked it out immediately and something told me it was fake. In addition, the western union and the location of money transfer were a big REDLIGHT since why would the US embassy in Cameroon be involved with transferring pets. I did not send any money and am not planning to, since my curiously has led to research the phone number 237 952 91359 and I realized that a lot of people have been scammed not only over puppies or parrots but also children adoptions!

I was scammed myself. These people took $450.00 of my money for an imaginery bulldog. I found out shortly after I paid them, that I got ripped off. The money wasn't such a big deal. I was more heartbroken about not receiving the dog. They called me the morning the puppy was supposed to be delivered and said they needed more money for an insurance certificate which totalled $1200.00 . I said absolutely not and they are threatening to charge me with pet abandonment because the dog is in my name so I am responsible for him. I had no solid evidence that they were a real company. They seemed to have stolen a letterhead from the real equine express transporters that claim someone was using their name on their website, and also had no proof of life for the puppy. I never got a number that was reachable or anybody that could even talk to me . Please beware!!! Do nOt Western union any body money.If they are a legit company, they will have other ways to do it.

I'm so sorry that this has happened to you; dogs are like members of the family and the scammers play on that. Pet scammers are among the cruellest ones out there.

Can you share a bit more info with us? Things like the email address, phone number (even if it didn't work) and the Western Union details they gave you. We can then use then to warn others about these scumbags. Also, if they told you to visit a website, can you post that website address here too?

Many thanks in advance for this. I can imagine you must be heartbroken, both about the money and more about the dog. Can I also suggest that adopting a pet from a local shelter or the like is probably the best way to go - trying to do it online is fraught with problems like the one you have come up against.

This is because i have just had my new job as a journalist and it is due-to the mobility of this job that leave me with no choice both to look for a perfect home for these cute and well trained puppies of mine. They are very sensitive, well socialized puppies and possesses the following characters..
Laura
-She is home and Potty Trained..
-She does not bark a lot.
-She is AKC registered, vet check, updated in all shots .
-She Is socialized with kids and other house hold pets .
-She is health vaccinated.
Laura is one of the largest puppy and one of the calmest puppy we have ever had. She is a little more reserved, but friendly and snuggles right in when picked up for hugs. Her family bond will be strong and loyal. She is also doing great on leash training and simple commands
Lauren

This cute puppy is the smallest of the litter and is growing fast. At a very young age he would sit up in a royal pose to whine. So the kids dubbed him Jake. He is totally unafraid to tackle any of the bigger pups and loves to lick hands and faces if you get too close. He is one of the kid's favorites and gets handled a lot.

Hello everyone. I just got scammed last week. I lost over 400 USD. I am completly heartbroken. The guy told me that the puppy would arrive in 6-7 hrs from cameroon and it never showed. The email address was ana_lorence@hotmail.com. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS! his name is Herber Nji. He called me and messaged me non stop about the dog and said he was a "Christian". He got me to western union him money and the test and answer question is when and now. He is not a good person. I also got an email from the cameroon airport saying the puppy needed insurance of 612.00 USD. He said he would pay for half so I believed him. He made up a flight plan and ticket number. He is a very bad person so I would tell everyone not to buy puppies from cameroon. Do not western union people you dont know for puppies. I am severly heartbroken and wish i could take it all back
