Thumbs up Frusterated

Don't let them use their scare tactics on you. They cannot do a thing, as they are the criminals. Glad you caught them.

Heya Sunny,

If they've got your address, keep an eye on your credit rating for a while. That's the most common use that a scammer has for an address, is to take out credit in a victim's name. And they may, possibly, try to send you cheques to cash and send back the difference by WU. If that's the case take the cheques to the police.

Hello Debs1, welcome to the forums,

I hate to say it but you've to accept that the money is gone forever. There's no way to get it back or to prosecute the scammer as all informations that you have are bogus. There's no dog, no missionary worker, no woman. Just you and the scammer. It sounds easy to say, but you can be glad that you didn't lose more. Many victims have lost 4 digit sums and more in this scam.

Debs1, you may sit down and take a deep breath and If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask.

One of the best ways I found to deal with these scammers is that when I get an e-mail form one, I report it to their e-mail hosting service for fraud. Many many have lost their e-mail accounts. yeah, they can just register again, but in the meantime, all the adds they posted with that e-mail are useless. Anyone they were trying to scam suddenly is out of touch.

From: "ferdinand ulrich" <ulrich_petslovers@yahoo.com>
Subject: Re: Bulldog pups

hello
thanks very much for your interest in this my darling baby as she is still available and up to date on all her littered papers ready to leave for her new home and she is now 12 weeks old and weighs 2.4 ibs and shall be normal size fully grown, she is well potty and housed trained and goes on very well with kids and other pets and i am presently located in California and my main reason for giving her up for adoption is that i have just gotten a scholarship to study in Australia and i can`t take her there as she will not be welcomed by the institution which i am going to study in so i am desperately looking for a good home for this darling so that she can be loved and cared for when i am gone as i don`t want any thing to hurt her as she is really a darling to me so let me know if you are interested in her and the actual price that she shall be going out for is $200 which includes every thing and her paper work so let me know when you need her and for pictures.
thanks Ulrich

You don't give much information.

But...

1. Where exactly are these puppies supposed to be? NC? or CA? They're 3,000 miles apart!

2. The phone number is a mobile in San Antonio, TX.

Those two facts would make me awfully suspicious.

Thumbs down Possible scam?

Hi,

I think i may be getting scammed but i am not sure. I came across an ad on a website, for an english bulldog for adoption. So obviously i inquired about the puppy. They sent me pictures of 2 dogs that i could chose from, i chose which one i would like. Told me the cost would only be 70 dollars for the papers. The reason why they were up for adoption, is because they could not keep it because of work conditions or something of that nature. Then the guy calls me today from an unknown number, obviously didnt know english very well.. and asks me if i can send the money to him today. This is before i found this site, so i did. However, the guy is still emailing me.. and yet always is able to answer emails in a quick and timely fashion. I sent the money to a FRU CARLSON.. and everything seemed legit. however, i am supposed to receive the puppy tomorrow. which now i think is doubtful. but who steals 70 DOLLARS??!
